















A still life is a work of art depicting mostly inanimate subject matter, typically commonplace objects which are either natural or man-made.








Portrait artworks can be anything from a sculpture to a painting or photography that specifically contains a face.











Collage is an art form which is made up of overlapping pieces of material, such as photographs, fabric, coloured and textured paper

















Figurative art is any form of modern art that retains strong references to the real world and particularly to the human figure.









Gestural abstraction, sometimes called “action painting”, is a style of painting in which paint is spontaneously dribbled, splashed or smeared onto the canvas, rather than being carefully applied. Here are my initial efforts using this method. It was great fun – not sure about the results though!









Abstract painting, a realm where colours dance freely and shapes defy conventions, has always held a peculiar fascination for me.




































My journey into abstract painting has been a transformative one. It has taught me the importance of letting go of preconceptions and embracing the unknown. It has shown me that art is not merely about depicting the external world but also about expressing the intangible realm within us.










Nature in art can take many visual forms, from photorealism to abstraction. Art can mimic nature, by seeking to visually replicate objects as they actually appear in real life. But abstract paintings can also take their visual cue from actual forms in nature.
